To get to the Statue of Liberty you had to buy tickets to get on the ferry. They said it would take an hour to get on the ferry, but the wait wasn't too bad, plus there were street performers that were pretty fun to watch.
This guy was pretty cool. He somehow knew I was Filipino and started playing and singing the Filipino National Anthem.
Here we are about to set sail on our journey to the Statue of Liberty.
The view of the city from where we were was unbelievable. I could have stayed there all day.
TaDa! The Statue of Liberty! Did you know that this isn't the only Statue of Liberty? There's actually three of them. (I learned that from watching National Treasure with Nicholas Cage . . . great movie)
Ellis Island. This place was pretty cool. When Matt's grandma first came to the U.S. she signed in at Ellis Island. Matt and I tried finding her name, but unfortunately they only had electronic records starting from 1948, and she came over in 1943.
After we got off the ferry we saw more street performers! These guys were funny.
They pulled Bridget and me up and made us hold our hands up. I still don't know why they did that.
Then they made us bend down and touch our toes. It was pretty awkward. But the cool thing was that this guy jumped over all four of us!
Next stop was ground zero. The hole is huge! I can't believe how big it is!
Here's a picture of a picture of what the 911 memorial will look like.
For lunch we stopped at a little pizza place. It was effing good.
Next stop? The Empire State Building! Another great view.
Matt and Makai's engagement picture
Right after we headed on down to FAO Schwarz to play the huge piano (like Tom Hanks did in the movie BIG). I've always wanted to do that.
The store was smaller than we thought it would be. When we walked in Matt told me that he thought it was pretty cool that they had Moses built out of legos. I looked over and laughed because it was really a sculpture of Hagrid from Harry Potter.
Here I am with my good pal Harry and my BFF Hermione.
The Piano! Too bad you can't hear our mad skills.
After the toy store, the boys got a little cold so decided to warm up. hehehe
Times Square . . . more walking.
and more walking . . .
Hanging out with a bum.
Around 12am, we finally decided to head back to our hotel to get some rest and call it a night. Just an FYI, don't ever wear flip flops in New York, because if you do you'll catch a foot disease that looks like this . . . YUCK! Looks like it's back to Lovely Nails to get another pedicure!
