We headed to Logan Friday afternoon and checked into a quality motel, called The Quality Inn. We were all starving, so we decided to eat at the Olive Garden and get some carbs in before the run. After dinner we drove down to the park where we picked up our packets and got the information for the run. The packet contained a map of the route we were running for the race so we decided to check it out! The trail seemed so long! I honestly didn't want to do it anymore. I was picturing myself giving up around 9 miles and calling matt to pick me up or crossing the finish line in tears. Then all of a sudden all these memories came flooding back to me. Memories from my first Junior High Track Meet. Nooooo! I was not going to finish last! I at least wanted to come in with a good time. I was so nervous the night before.
We dropped Bridget off at the hotel because she likes to get her nightly baths in. She was also smart enough to go to bed at 9:30. Then there's me, I was too nervous to sleep so I went with Makai and Matt to the late showing of District 9. It was a really weird movie. After the movie we went back to the room and went to bed. I couldn't sleep the whole night! I kept waking up every 20 minutes. I honestly had no sleep at all. It was finally time to wake up so we got ready, had some breakfast, hopped on the bus, and headed on up to the canyon.
Here are some pictures of that day.
The morning of the race. . .
Me contemplating a way to get out of it. j/k
Bridget and her cute little visor.
Picture of me running taken by some stalker. j/k.
Matt thought I was giving him the piece sign . . . Little did he know.
Bridget not even looking out of breath.
The finish line!
I still can't believe we did it.
We thought that Matt and Makai were going to just see us at the finish line. They ended up surprising us at almost every stop just to cheer us on. I love you honey buns!
I finished in 2 hours 19 min and Bridget finished in 2 hours 10. Not bad for our first time. We are actually going to be running in the Vegas half marathon in December!

Wahoo!! I want to know if you trained too? Matt said you were so sore the next day. We missed you at the floorset!
I am so impressed by you and your amazing ability to run long distances without actually training.
Also I was reading your comments and I thought You were laying on the self adulation pretty thick until I realized Matt was the one to type that. :)
