So basically I was supposed to stick with a strict schedule 2 months prior to the race. I started training in July and ran 3 times a week with a day of rest in between. The first run I would run a short distance (like 3 miles), then rest the next day, then do like (3.5-4 miles) the day after that, rest again the next day, and on my last run of the week would be my long distance run (which for the first week was about 5 miles). Then the whole schedule starts all over again but with a small increase from the last week. So for example the next week I would start with my short run of about 3.5 miles, the medium run of about 4.5 miles, and the long distance run of about 5.5 miles.
I do have to admit that I slacked a little here and there. There were about two weeks where I didn't even run, so I basically would have to start the whole routine all over again from the beginning. And then Two weeks prior to the run my legs and shins started hurting, I was so scared I had shin splints that I didn't run for two whole weeks!
But that's that. The next half marathon I do, I'm definitely going to be super strict with my workout schedule and of course my diet. boo! j/k.
And just because a post isn't a post without a picture, here's a random one I found in one of my photo albums.
Until next time!
P.S. I can't wait for Fall!
